To book onto a course which you can either book online by clicking here or by calling the LAYC Office (0131) 667 1828. Places are usually restricted to 2 places per club initially, although reserve lists are kept if you want more places. 1 week before the course contact is made with those booked on the course to confirm their attendance and reserve places allocated at that stage if any become available. Places on each course are usually £10 for member groups and £20 for non members. Only courses completed by staff and volunteers from member groups are eligible for the LAYC Training Scheme. AttendingEach course has a sign in / attendance sheet. We will email you after the course to confirm your attendence and to remind you of the follow up activities you will need to complete. Please make sure we have a current email address for you. If you do not have a email address please make sure we have the correct postal address for your either your home or organisation. Please note: Unfortunately because of the levels of demand and the subsidised cost, LAYC has to charge anyone who fail to attend training courses they have booked on if they do not contact LAYC in advance in time to allow someone else to make use of the place. CompletingOnce you've attended the course you will need to complete a small number of follow up activities relating to the content of your course. Each course has different activities that need to be completed. For some of the courses (e.g. Games, Games, Games) you will be asked to let us know how you have put what your covered on your course into practise. On other (e.g. Child Protection) courses you will be asked to find out about your own organisations policies and procedures. You will need to complete the online follow up form for your course which is submitted to LAYC. We'll have a look at your answers and if they're ok we'll send you your course certificate. And as you complete more LAYC Training Scheme courses you will get your Bronze, Silver or Gold certificate as well. If you do not have a email address / internet access you will be able to complete a paper version which you will be able to get from your course tutor.
