Affiliation & InsuranceAt present LAYC has more than 170 affiliated members. Affiliation to LAYC includes adequate and affordable member insurance. All affiliated members can access the training events, receive regular copies of Networks (LAYC's own quarterly youth workers journal) and all the additional support services LAYC has to offer. Find out more about the Benefits of Affiliation. Information, Support & AdviceLAYC is an invaluable source of information, support and advice for its affiliated members. We have given advice to groups from insurance to activity programmes and have access to a wide range of information, people and resources. If we can't answer your question, then we will try to find out who can! Our quarterly journal Networks is also an invaluable source of information. TrainingLAYC runs a yearly training programme in response to members requests. This has included everything from Child Protection to Games Workshops to First Aid. LAYC often works in partnership with other organisations like PACE to deliver extensive training programmes for the benefit of all our members. Joyce Dunford BequestLAYC administers the Joyce Dunford Bequest which member groups can apply to for grants up to £100 to help you start a new project. In the past we have supported weekend residentials, buying arts/crafts materials, sports equipment and running a specific project in the club programme. Forms for the Bequest are sent out with Networks quarterly. AdvocacyLAYC represents member groups interests at local and national levels. This includes lobbying and campaigning on behalf of children and young people, youth and children's workers and youth and children's groups in support of continuing and developing youth work and children's services in Edinburgh and the Lothians. |
