Networks Summer 2008 issue

Networks is published four times a year and is circulated to all the affiliated groups and members of LAYC.

Each issue is full of useful information, articles, reviews and ideas for youth and children's workers in the Lothian area.

PVG - A Shiny New Disclosure Outfit?
Protection of Vulnerable Groups... mean anything to you? The Scottish Government consultaion ended on the 12th February was looking at changing the current disclosure process and expanding the existing regulation of people who work with children and childcare sector.

LAYC Training Scheme & Programme
LAYC run a continuous training programme and have added in a new scheme to recognise the time & effort youth and childrens workers put into their training.

Networks Summer 2007 includes:

East Lothian Youth Council
Progress towards Youth Council - page 3. A number of young people attended the first sitting of the Scottish Youth Parliament in Musselburgh in March. One of the first partnership agreements has been signed between East Lothian Council and the Scottish Youth Parliament.

Child Protection Line
