About Affiliation
Affiliation to LAYC is open to most individuals, clubs, groups and organinsations involved in work with children and young
people in Lothian. There are minimum standards and other basic criteria for affiliation with LAYC and you can find out more about these

The affiliation period runs from the 1st of November to the 31st of October.
The current affiliation year therefore runs from 1 November 2007 to 31 October 2008.
There are now four different ways to affiliate with LAYC which enables prospective members to join at the level that offers them
the most appropriate level of support and services. Affiliation forms can be downloaded by clicking on the respective link of the
categories, which are as follows;
- Basic Affiliation
(membership of LAYC only)
- Networks and mailings
- Access to resource library services
- Information and advice
- Training programme (non discount)
- Information and advice on Disclosure matters
- Annual support visit
- Affiliation Plus (membership of
LAYC, Youth Scotland and UK Youth)
- Includes all the benefits of Basic Affiliation and
- Access to tailored training programme at discounted rates
- Disclosure service (including access to checks)
- Use of e-services including e-Networks and e-bulletins
- Access to library and meeting rooms
- Access to Joyce Dunford Bequest Fund & information on other funding sources
- Affiliation to Youth Scotland and UK Youth
- Access to Youth Scotland mailings, training and national programmes
- Access to UK Youth mailing and related services
- Free membership to the Bits & Bobs - Environmental Scrapstore
- Leisure Links (Edinburgh only)
- Affiliation Plus Cover (membership as with Affiliation Plus and insurance cover)
- Includes all the benefits of Basic and Affiliation Plus and Youth Scotland Insurance
Which now include;
- Limited contents insurance
- An option in increase public liability cover to £5 million
- Extended insurance cover for 3 overnight trips
- Individual Membership (membership of
